About
I’m Prateek Arora, a full-stack engineer in Bengaluru. I’ve spent five years in fintech and SaaS, working across the stack, from services in Java, Spring Boot and Node.js to front ends in React and TypeScript.
Most of my work sits where the backend meets the frontend: APIs with tight latency budgets, the retries, caching and failure handling around them, and the React apps that call them.
Outside work I’m building PgLens, an open-source advisor that finds the queries costing a PostgreSQL database the most time and measures whether an index really helped.
What I write about
- Distributed systems and reliability: timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, caches, and what actually breaks in production.
- Databases: PostgreSQL internals, indexes, query plans, connection poolers.
- AI in engineering: retrieval, evaluating LLM output, and working with coding agents.
- Frontend: micro-frontends, build performance, accessibility, and internationalization.
